Numerous studies support the conclusion that cannabis is an effective tool in treating nausea.

Cannabis also helps with nausea brought on cancer, HIV/AIDS, migraines, gastrointestinal disorders, and other conditions.

The link between cannabis and nausea relief caught the attention of oncologists in the mid-1970s.

Since then, dozens of studies have supported cancer patients’ anecdotal
evidence about cannabis.

Cannabis strains recommended for nausea relief include OG Kush, Bubba Kush, and Blue Dream.

In rare cases, cannabis can cause severe nausea and vomiting.

People with cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome (CHS) can avoid nausea and vomiting by abstaining from cannabis.

Have you used cannabis to relieve nausea? Tell us about your experience in the comments.
Utah Therapeutic Health Center founder Tim Pickett and Clifton Uckerman, a licensed clinical social worker, hosted a webinar to discuss post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and cannabis.

PTSD is the second most-common qualifying condition for which Utah patients can seek recommendations for Medical Cannabis. (Chronic pain is the #1 qualifying condition.)

Cannabis helps people with PTSD by improving sleep quality, reducing nightmares and other sleep disturbances, reducing anxiety, elevating mood, and other benefits.
This mini-episode of Discover Marijuana is all about terpenes! Terpenes are the fragrant oils in cannabis and other plants. They’re responsible for the aromas and flavors in cannabis.

Watch to learn more about a few of the most useful terpenes: myrcene, limonene, alpha-pinene, beta-caryophyllene, and humulene.
What does it take to turn the flower from a marijuana plant into something a medical cannabis patient can use?

Cannabis growers often use the time-tested method of planting seeds, but there are alternatives to the old-fashioned way. For example, growers can clone cannabis plants by using cuttings taken from a healthy mother plant.

Once the flower is harvested, it takes a few more weeks of drying and curing before it can be used. Then, the flower is either packaged raw or sent for further processing for use in other cannabis products.

The production of medical cannabis products often involves much more than simply growing, processing, and packaging.

Watch the video to learn about the legal considerations of “seed to sale.” We’ll also show you how to find alternatives to your favorite strains, in case your first choice isn’t available.

Do you have a favorite cannabinoid? WholesomeCo pharmacist Kylee Shumway’s favorite is cannabigerol (CBG). Shumway recommends CBG for all of her patients.

Zion Pharmaceuticals Chief Science Officer, Blake Smith, says CBG is a precursor molecule in the cannabis plant. During plant growth, most of the CBG the plant produces is converted to THC, CBD, and other cannabinoids.

CBG is a versatile cannabinoid, useful in treating pain, inflammation, and for elevating mood. It’s a great cannabinoid for beginners, because it provides therapeutic effects without causing a “high,” as THC does.

Medical cannabis users often seek products with equal parts of THC and CBD. Using multiple cannabinoids together creates what’s called the “entourage effect,” by which the cannabinoids enhance each other’s effects.

But the entourage effect doesn’t require equal parts of each cannabinoid in order to work. In fact, Smith recommends products with a ratio of one part CBG for every five parts of CBD.

Talk to your local cannabis pharmacist if you’re interested in incorporating CBG into your treatment plan.
